“We made our decision to move to Concordia in 2005. We liked the plan from the beginning and have steadily become more convinced of its value for us through this past year. We are totally committed and have begun downsizing by selling our house and moving to an apartment.
Do we miss mowing and watering the lawn? NO
Do we miss the hassles of maintaining our home? NO
Do we enjoy lower utility payments in our apartment? YES
While initially it may seem expensive, we feel we are getting a great value for our investment. With the increasing costs of home ownership including mortgage payments, utilities, insurance, maintenance, and yard work, we look forward to knowing what our living expenses will be on a monthly basis. We will have no responsibility for leaky faucets or toilets, for appliances that fail to work or major home repairs. There will be no worries over meal planning and much fewer groceries to buy.
Our neighbors will be our friends and we can choose which activities in which we will participate. When we want to travel, we won’t have to even worry about the mail. There is freedom in knowing we can live independently without having to ask our children for help in maintaining our home. After investigating other retirement communities, we believe Concordia Life Care Community fits our needs the best. We like the location and the beautiful new facility. Best of all, Concordia will meet our continuing needs regardless of the level of healthcare we may require.”
