Advocates for elderly Oklahomans talked about challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, how the business community and government have responded and about lessons learned so far in a conversation held online Friday on JR Now, hosted by Journal Record Interim Editor Joe Dowd.

The leaders, including Julie Davis, Talena Ford and Steve Buck, also offered some inspiring stories of resilience they’ve witnessed from seniors, as well as some thoughts on the “Oklahoma Standard” and looking out for the best interests of older Oklahomans and other neighbors.

“Remember, any decision you make impacts your neighbor,” Davis said.

The community is invited to tune in to The Journal Record‘s weekly online discussions on timely topics. They’re held each Friday at 11 a.m.

Dowd moderates the panel and community leaders offer feedback on issues affecting Oklahoma City and the broader Oklahoma community. Click here to see the entire program.
