A great start for 2020.
A new foundation.
The Concordia Community Foundation formed in January 2020 to serve as the official fundraising arm of Concordia Life Plan Community. The application was filed with the IRS on January 21, 2020. The Foundation’s EIN is 84-4257175. The founding members of the Concordia Community Foundation Board of Directors are David Seaman (President), Sandra Over (Vice President), Jeff Maltz (Treasurer), Paige Mills-Haag (Secretary) and Rev. Barrie Henke (Member). The Foundation will focus efforts on the successful completion of a capital campaign as well as fundraising for the Good Samaritan Fund, a benevolent care program for Concordia life care residents.
A new campaign.
Concordia quietly launched a $3.5 million capital campaign on June 2, 2019, with the Lois Buesser and Friends Benefit Concert and reception hosted at Messiah Lutheran Church in Oklahoma City. This year we are moving into the public phase of the campaign. The campaign’s primary purpose is to support improvements and expansion of Concordia’s Kamman Chapel, named in loving memory of Rev. Harold W. Kamman. The capital improvements will convert the existing chapel to an independent living activities space, and new construction will include a more expansive Kamman Chapel and additional spaces for activities, offices, a conference room and storage. The campaign’s anticipated completion date is 2023-2024.
After the campaign goal has been reached, any amount over $3.5M raised adds to the Good Samaritan Fund, particularly important so that residents who have exhausted their personal funds can remain in their homes with us.
Concordia Community Foundation would like to thank everyone who contributes to the campaign’s success, including those whose annual gifts help support Concordia Life Plan Community’s programs and services.
